WHY GO

A high roadside outlook across the Holme Valley, with a commemorative topograph beside the summit car park.

Holme Moss provides an open outlook over the Holme Valley from beside the high road. A stone topograph commemorating the 2023 coronation was installed and formally unveiled here, according to the parish council. The nearby transmitter is a prominent landmark in this exposed moorland landscape.

Plan a safe visit
Editorial review: 6 November 2026. Conditions may change.
Approach
Use the Holme Moss car park beside the A6024 and the immediately adjoining viewing area and topograph. The guide is scoped to the viewpoint, without an onward moorland hike.
Walking time from arrival (one way)
Not yet checked. Please confirm before your visit.
Terrain & steps
A roadside car park and adjoining open upland viewing area; no detailed surface or gradient audit was found.
Accessibility
An uninterrupted route without steps or kerbs has not been verified. Confirm the ground and access arrangements for your needs.
Access & restrictions
Park within the designated car park and observe current highway signs. Check access before travelling in wintry conditions.
Seasonal considerations
Snow and ice can close the high road. Check highway and weather updates; the open viewpoint can be windy and mist can obscure the panorama.
