Dogs
Restrictions apply
Keep dogs closely controlled, preferably on a lead, throughout the year. A short lead of no more than 2 metres is required 1 March–31 July; prevent disturbance to livestock and wildlife.
Old Goods Yard, Station Road, Marsden: first two hours free, then charges Monday–Saturday. The estate also identifies free Wessenden Head lay-by parking, which serves a different approach.
Marsden has cafés and shops. The current estate page lists Old Goods Yard parking free for two hours, then charged Monday–Saturday; the older walk-page free-parking statement should not be relied on.
Opening hours
All times are local to the place. Facility hours may differ from access to the grounds. N/A means no timetable was available in the sources checked; read the notes for access guidance.

Four reservoirs, an old spillway and open moorland scenery on the National Trust’s valley walk from Marsden.
The Wessenden Valley links Butterley, Blakeley, Wessenden and Wessenden Head reservoirs above Marsden. The National Trust’s full out-and-back walk is eight miles and takes about four hours. The route passes Butterley’s stone spillway before climbing farther into the moorland.

Seasonal considerations
National Trust guidance requires dogs on short leads from 1 March to 31 July. Check weather and current moorland notices before longer walks.
